  Lessons This week we are really diving into your solo. If you haven't done so yet, the first page of your packet (front and back) will be due at this lesson. Combined Rehearsals We have 3 combined rehearsals this week in preparation for the Appleton Christmas Parade. It is also November in Wisconsin. PLEASE check the weather each day we are going outside and dress accordingly! HERE is the parade line-up. It is very similar to the homecoming parade, but there are some changes so please know where your new spot is! Here is the combined rehearsal schedule: Monday - 3A Wednesday - 3B Friday - 3A Tuesday (11/25) - 3C Jazz Band Concert The Jazz Band concert is this Thursday! These students have worked incredibly hard the first few months of school and you should definitely come support your classmates! All Jazz Band Members - Your call time is 6:00pm. This means in the band room, dressed in concert attire, with your instrument out ready to warm up at 6pm. Attire is all black dress clothes. For more specific information of what is and is not appropriate concert attire, see page 5 in the band handbook. Orlando 2027 The deadline to register for this trip is Dec 1st. Right now the trip is capped at around 100 people. It will be first come first served. If we do reach that cap going, there will be a waiting list. KHS Band students will be prioritized over chaperones and siblings. There is a possibility to add a third bus but we would need at least 130-140 travelers to keep the price down. Please remember that BOTH the Kimberly Trip Commitment Form AND BRT Commitment Form need to be completed. All of the information about this trip can be found here. Appleton Christmas Parade The Downtown Appleton Christmas Parade is coming up very soon! The parade is Tuesday, November 25th. We are very late in the parade, which means we will be waiting around for a while before we step off. Plan to dress warmly under your uniform! Toe warmers, hand warmers, long underwear, layers, thick socks, heated vests, etc. The only thing we ask is that nothing is showing out of your uniform (tuck long pants into your socks, etc.). Call time to get your uniform will be 5:45pm. Buses will depart by 6:15pm. You may decorate your instrument! Lights, tinsel, ornaments, the actual grinch - the only thing you need to make sure of is that your instrument remains playable/functioning. The KHS Band will not provide lights, tape, zip ties, etc. And PLEASE make sure you clean up after yourselves in the band rooms! The Appleton Christmas Parade draws around 80,000 people on College Ave. and another many thousands that watch the televised broadcasts so we want to make sure we look and sound the best we possibly can! Every year the KHS Band is one of the top performers and we intend to keep it this way!
