Week of September 15, 2025

Lessons
We are entering our second week of lessons. Students were all given things to practice for this week's lesson. Everyone should bring their lesson book, homecoming music, and school song. 

Please make sure you are doing everything you can to remember your lesson time! If a lesson is missed (unexcused - you forgot, you didn't trade times when you knew you had a test/appointment/sports), they can be made up for 1/2 credit. If a lesson is missed (excused - you're unexpectedly sick that day) you can make it up for full credit. In both cases, lessons must be made up within 1 week of the missed lesson. Once your next lesson happens, we are unable to make up the previous lesson. 

If you know of a conflict ahead of time (appointment, a test, or an early dismissal for sports) it is your responsibility to trade lesson times. You can find anyone who has the same lesson teacher to trade with. Remember that groups must trade together. 

Quarterly Grading Sheet
The Quarterly Grading Sheet is ready to view. Students were all given a hard copy in class on Friday. 

Sectionals
Clarinets have a sectional Tuesday during Flex. 
Percussion have a sectional Wednesday during Flex. 

There is also an optional "extra marching practice" session on Friday during flex that anyone can sign up for. 

Marching Practice
We will be outside twice this week and the weather looks like it's going to be even warmer than last week. Be prepared! 
We will be in the indoor facility on Thursday and Friday to learn the drill for Phantom of the Opera. 

Proper shoes must be worn. No sandals, crocs, slippers! 

Pep Band
Our next game is this Friday! We got a lot of positive feedback from our new playing spot. Remember to point those bells up and into the stands and watch the drum majors! 

Just a reminder that you are expected to play when touchdowns are scored, and at the end of the 1st quarter (in addition to pregame and halftime). Please make sure you are paying attention. 

It is also the student's responsibility to take care of their instrument. There are a lot of instruments lying on the ground/bleachers. Please be careful! 

If you are unable to attend the game on Friday for any reason, make sure you are filling out the Pep Band Conflict Form ahead of time. 

Right now it looks like the theme is NEON, so plan ahead! Who will win the spirit stick this week?
