Week of September 1st, 2026

Jazz Bands
Jazz Bands will not meet the first week of school. Jazz 1 & 2 will meet on Tuesday, September 8th and Thursday, September 10th. Jazz Lab will meet on Wednesday, September 9th and Friday, September 11th. 

First Day
Freshmen and new students: your forms (handbook acknowledgement form, and the medical Field Trip Permission form) are due the first day of school. You can also bring in your $15 for your polo (cash or check made out to KHS Band). 
Wind Ensemble and Symphonic Band: we will briefly go through the handbook. Bring your instrument to play! 

Lesson Requests
Everyone will complete the Lesson Request Form on the first day. Make sure you've put some thought into what block you'd like your lesson during. 
The second week of school we will be running optional lessons for anyone who like to go through the school song and the homecoming music. 
Lessons will officially start the 3rd week of school. 

Pep Band
Our 2nd pep band performance of the year (1st with everyone) is this Friday! 
Everyone needs to check in with one of the drum majors before 6:10pm. Make sure you are dressed in the theme (we will let you know when it has been decided) or your polo (new polos will not be in yet but the deadline to order one is September 4th if you do not have one!). 

If you cannot make it to this game (4 e-points), make sure you fill out the Pep Band Conflict form as soon as possible. There is also an option there for if you need to meet us at the field. 

Everyone is expected to play pre-game, at the quarter change, when we score a touchdown, and through halftime. You are responsible for being there to play. You are responsible for your own instrument. There is a lot of walking/running around. Please be responsible! 
We will depart at the end of halftime.
