Lessons
There are no lessons this week. If you missed your lesson make sure you speak to your lesson teacher about a make-up! Combined Marching Rehearsals It's Homecoming Week which means we have combined marching rehearsals! Below are the the times you need to report for band. If we are combining during a different block than when you normally have band, you should treat your normal band class as your lunch. You are excused from your class if we are combining during a skinny you normally have a class. Monday - 3B We will be outside in the teacher lot. Get your instrument and go outside immediately. HERE is how you should line up outside. This will be your spot for the parade. Tuesday - 3C in the Indoor Facility. Wednesday - 3A outside in the teacher lot. Thursday - 3AB @ JRG. Meet in the band room at the start of 3A and we will bus over to the stadium. You will eat lunch 3C and we will still have Jazz 1/2. Example: I am in 3A band and have another class 3B, and lunch 3C - I would have lunch 3A on Monday, and come to band 3B and be excused from my 3B class. I would then have another lunch during 3C. I could use the two lunches to get caught up with my 3B class if needed. Example: I have a 3A class, I am in 3B band, and have 3C lunch - On Tuesday I would go to my 3A class. I would take my lunch during 3B when band normally is. I would come to band 3C for the rehearsal. Please let us know if you have any questions! Your teachers have all been notified of these rehearsals. You are still responsible for any classwork you may miss! Homecoming Parade The Homecoming Parade is Wednesday! The Band leading the parade is always a highlight of the week. We always see so many little kids have their eyes light up as we come down the street playing the school song and it's a great feeling to know you're inspiring others. We have been working toward this performance and we are excited to showcase your hard work and dedication! Call time: 9th graders only - the uniform room will be open starting at 4pm. Band council members will be here to help you put your uniform on. Upperclassmen may start arriving at 4:15 to get your uniform. Please let the freshmen get their uniforms first as this is the first time they will be wearing them. Uniform reminders: You must have: All-black (no logos or surfaces that are reflective or a different color, no different color soles, etc.) laced shoes. Long, all-black socks (up to the calf). Solid-white t-shirt (there should be no logos or other colors). It will likely be a little on the warmer side, so athletic shorts are recommended for under your uniform pants. No excessive jewelry or makeup is allowed. Long hair needs to be off the collar. This can be either tied up inside your hat, or French-braided. These uniforms are incredibly expensive. Students are financially responsible for anything that may require repair and/or dry cleaning. Pep Rally We will be playing at the Pep Rally on Friday! All band students are required to play and we will be taking attendance. Everyone needs to wear their Kimberly Band Polo. If you still haven't picked up your polo, please do so early next week. We will not be distributing polos right before the pep rally. Performing at the pep rally and wearing your polo is part of your Homecoming performance grade. Halftime Show Performance Finally, our Homecoming week culminates with our Halftime Show performance at the football game! With the assistance from the Band Boosters, we are excited to announce that we will be providing a pizza dinner for everyone before the game beginning at 4:30pm. We will make sure you don't have any grease or pizza sauce on you before you get changed into your uniform :) The uniform room will open at 5:30pm. The same uniform reminders/requirements from the parade apply with the addition of: No leaning or brushing your uniform up against anything (i.e. the buses, the fence, the bleachers). No eating or drinking anything other than water while in uniform (hence the pizza dinner). No sitting on the turf or the track. EXCITEMENT! We are so excited for this week so the school and community can see how much work, effort, and dedication has gone into the first month of school! Comments are closed.
