*Tip: Create a narrative as you share your experiences.  Please avoid simply listing accomplishments in sentence form. Share what you learned and how it impacted you in high school and what you will carry forth into your post-secondary education.
Step 1: Complete an Essay. The criteria for the scholarship essay (not to       exceed 700 words) will address the following information in essay form:
  • BAND EXPERIENCE. Focus on what your band experience has been like while in high school, including but not limited to music, leadership and volunteering.  You can also include what you have done outside of school and in the community that is music related.  Please be as specific as possible.
  • EXTRACURRICULAR ACTIVITIES AND/OR VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES. Share your involvement in any activities and/or volunteering opportunities (school or non-school related) that you participated in during your high school years, including any non-music related activities.
  • FUTURE PLANS. Include a short paragraph about what your future plans are when you graduate from Kimberly High School (be as specific as possible at the time of submission; we understand plans often change and the selection committee will be flexible in this area).

Step 2: Complete the Online Application & Upload your Essay (.pdf)

Step 3: Acknowledge & Submit your Online Application

Step 4: (Band Directors Step).
This scholarship requires a Band Director  Recommendation Form to be completed. After you submit your application,  the Director of your choosing will be emailed the form to complete and will  return it to the Scholarship Committee. (View Sample Form)

Shari Beck donated countless hours of her time volunteering for the Kimberly Band Boosters, Inc.  She held many different roles over a 15-year time span as the President, Secretary, and Uniform/Fundraiser coordinator. She enjoyed spending time with the students, teachers, and volunteers.

According to Shari, "Time is a gift that’s better than money. Time is something so precious that even the richest person can’t buy more."

Volunteerism is an important part of a student's experience as it prepares you to give selflessly in the years to come.

In honor of Shari's dedication to the Kimberly Band program, and her spirit of volunteerism, we would like to celebrate one (1) Kimberly High School senior band student who has made the Kimberly Band program stronger with the gift of their time and leadership.

To Apply - Complete & Submit the Online Application where you will be asked to list your volunteer efforts in the Kimberly Band for each year of your High School career. This can include efforts where you exhibited leadership or going above and beyond during school hours.

Note: This scholarship can be combined with the Band Booster Scholarship.
